Youth Pastor
First Christian Church of Winchester, VA, an independent Christian church, seeks a fulltime Youth Pastor to lead our 25-30 young people in their Christian walk. Our Youth Minister will be a disciple of Jesus Christ as shown in his/her walk and testimony. We desire an enthusiastic mentor to spiritually lead our youth in following Jesus and growing in their faith. Our young people are a spirited team, talented, compassionate, ready to serve, and a blessing to our church family.
This position requires effective relationship building with all members of our congregation and local community. You must have a strong desire to lead and grow our youth ministry through Christian education, mission trips, outreach, camps, fellowship retreats and conferences. As a leader in our church and in our community outreach activities, you will be highly visible.
Success in this position requires experience leading and mentoring youth through Bible study, Sunday school, and/or youth programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Facebook, website maintenance, budget management and supporting youth in special fundraising events.

Youth Pastor Duties and Responsibilities
Our Youth Pastor will direct the youth programs of First Christian Church and support the Senior Pastor with ministerial duties. The primary duties are shown below and additional duties may be assigned.
I.Planned Youth Activities
You will lead:
a.Weekly youth group education and team building activities for each of these age groups:
b.Collaborate with the Youth & Education Committee Chair to prepare and manage the budget
c.Recruit and equip leaders to assist with all aspects of the youth program
d.Reach out to youth and their families with calls, emails, Facebook and visitation
e.Schedule a minimum of at least one Summer youth activity during each month of June, July, August

II.Youth Participation and Leadership in First Christian Church
You will mentor youth to:
a.Plan, prepare and deliver Youth Sunday each quarter
b.Plan, coordinate and participate in annual mission trips & activities
c.Plan, coordinate and participate in annual Vacation Bible School
d.Coordinate efforts with other committees: Education, Worship, Property, and Publicity
III.Youth Activity Notification
You will:
a.Mentor and participate with youth in evangelism activities seeking unchurched youth to attend planned social events and Youth Sundays
b.Publicize youth activities using FCC website, Facebook, public announcements, media sources
c.Document and celebrate youth accomplishments by authoring stories & taking photos for the youth page of the monthly church newsletter and posting on bulletin boards and the foyer video screen
IV.Church Activities
You will:
a.Participate in weekly staff meetings
b.Work with committees on leadership for traditional and contemporary church services
c.Take part in Men’s Bible study and other men’s events
d.Attend called Elders meetings
e.Participate, as needed, in activities within the Children’s Enrichment Program (a preschool located in our facility)
f.Share participation in the visitation ministry of the church
g.Prepare written reports for Church Board meeting and other committees as needed
h.Assist administrative Secretary with phone calls, bulletin preparation, community involvement questions, etc.
